The
number of orphans in Uganda are estimated at 20% of all children below 15 years
of age. Of these 990,000 (60%) have lost their fathers, 330,000 (20%) have lost
their mothers and the remaining 20% are double orphans. Many of these children
need help to be in School says Frederick Kusolo, Programme Manager, Child Development
Foundation (CDF). A family prepares a bowl of potatoes ready to be fried, sold
and hopefully make a profit of less than 50p. Each of these kids need £5 to
be in school CDF empowers women in economic ventures such these so that their
children can be in school.
