My Prayer to God
Verse of the day
Prayer of Salvation
After about a year of attending the church and studying the Word of God, I decided to re-affirm my acceptance of the Lord and I was baptized at River Oaks Community Church. This was the start of my true faith walk and the opening of my eyes and ears to the power of our Lord and Savior. After about eighteen months in the new job, I received an offer for a new position on the West coast and could not refuse it. I accepted the offer and relocated to Southern California. After settling down, I joined Saddleback Valley Community Church. My uncle had been a member there for 25 years. This was definitely a different experience as I went from a church family of 50 members to a church family of 30,000 members. I attended Sunday services and also got plugged into the singles ministry.
Things were going well in my life except for the new job position. After about three months, I was no longer getting paid. This now became a very difficult time in my life spiritually as I began questioning God and asking him, how can You do this to me? I left my small group and tried dealing with this situation on my own. Ultimately I left this company and was unemployed. During this time I wrote the poem The Journey of Life. I really feel that God was talking to me through this poem and used it to give me hope. I also met a wonderful person that provided me a home as I house sat for him and watched his 120lb dog while he went on vacations. He was a strong Christian and we had a lot of great fellowship times. This really kept me going on my spiritual growth. About three months later, I found a new job and start working again. I felt that things were back in sync and I was personally back. Well, about three months into this position, I got laid off again. The company was another small dot com company and they had a fall in sales. This time I sought the assistance of my friends and church family, and they were definitely there for me and prayed for me. Ultimately I ended up closing my apartment lease, and relocated to my sisters house in Northern California. I lived with her and my niece. While looking for employment, I was still keeping strong in my faith. After a few months of looking for a job, I had gotten down to my last week of money. I received a call from the company in North Carolina that I originally left and they offered my position back with a raise. I accepted and prepared to relocate back to North Carolina. After moving back I began attending my old church again, and they were glad to see me back. I was very glad to be back. Since moving back to Raleigh, I have since bought a house and have been constantly growing in my faith.
Looking back on my life, I now realize that everything that happened to me was for a reason and now it all makes sense. At the time it didnt, but having the Lord as my Guide  he worked in my life so that I was never homeless, without food, nor without money during my time of unemployment. Things were hard, and I was not able to live as comfortably as I am used to, but I still had everything that I needed to survive. I know that I am supposed to be here in North Carolina. I know that I am supposed to be writing this story and developing this outreach ministry GODPOWEREDSALVATION.COM. I have no idea what God has planned for me in the future, but I am his servant and will follow his guidance as he is my Leader and my Guide now that I have activated my G.P.S.

Perhaps you can relate to the story of my faith journey in some personal way. You may be going through similar challenges that I have been through. Keep in mind that the Lord is only a prayer away. He loves you and has a plan for your life that is good. He wants to bless you and guide your life. However, he doesnt force his way into your lifehe waits for you to invite him to lead you as you surrender yourself to him. Just tell him in prayer what you need. God often works through people, and if I can be of help to you, I would be glad to communicate with you or connect you with people at my church who can help you. See the contact information on this web site if getting in touch will help you.
