| Toi was an excellent Ridgeback. Though we generally don't put much importance in match wins, it is worth mentioning that she was shown in six matches from 3 to 7 months of age. Not only did she win the breed each time, she also won the Hound Group in all six matches and was twice Best in Match. Always owner-handled, she finished her championship at only 11 months old from the Bred-by-Exhibitor class. Toi was a group placer and multi-Best of Breed winner over top competition. Unfortunately, Toi's Specials career was very limited due to our having two other nice Specials at the same time and having to swap them around . Toi had a superb temperament like both her sire and dam - easy going and laid back attitude, yet she was outgoing and friendly - a happy-go-lucky girl. She showed with energy and enthusiasm. Toi was 26" tall (measured at shoulder), about 78 pounds, red wheaten with white on chest, neck and tips of toes. Toi excelled in movement and it was not unusual to receive favorable comments from spectators as well as judges. Upon examining Toi, the judge under whom she finished said "Ah-h-h! At last, a SOUND one!" Toi was OFA certified "Good. Toi was bred to Am/Can Ch. Royalton's Blue Max in 1990. Max was Reserve Winners Dog at the 1989 National Specialty in California and a Group Placer. His pedigree also contains some of the country's best-known Ridgebacks and bloodlines that we felt would compliment Toi and her lines. This breeding produced a renowned litter of nine with no ridgeless and no dermoid sinus. Six from this litter finished their championship (4 in the US, one in South Africa, and one in Finland) and one CDX dog. Toi was #1 Brood Bitch (tied) for 1992. The champions from this litter are particularly noteworthy. See additional information on each of these dogs. |

| FINLAND Ch. Globe's Malabari Chuma ("Chuma") Chuma was the first brown nose Ridgeback in Finland. She was a multi-BEST OF BREED winner from the classes. In Finland, dogs have to be 2 years old to finish their championships, and Chuma, already having more than twice as many CC's needed, finished a month after she turned 2 by winning CC Bitch and Best of Breed. She was the dam of multi-group placing champions in Finland. Chuma was certified free of hip dysplasia. Chuma was owned by Maria Bjorkas (Mwbasimba Ridgebacks, Finland), who subsequently imported another dog sired by Ch. Globe Ca-Abi Reign On Teaser, ROM that has his Finnish championship. Chuma was twice brought back to USA to be bred to Teaser with very nice litters. |
