| We See the Doctor and the 6th Test is Done... Wednesday, October 8, 2003 Five Weeks Along I have been about to freak out waiting for today, WEDNESDAY, so I could see the doctor and have him tell me something concrete. Luckily, they could see me this early (everyone says they were surprised I could be seen so early--they said normally people won't see you until you miss two periods!). Also, in our favor, there is OB-GYN ASSOCIATES in walking distance from the house (not that I'm walking, but just to say.) So Chris and I met eachother at the big brownstone lookin' clinic at three and sat in the waiting room for a little bit, looking at the other (visibly) pregnant women there. There was also one freaked out husband/partner there as well. His wife looked like she was ready for this baby to come out. We flipped through magazines and giggled and acted silly and finally, my name was called. Chris went with me and was in the room for the whole thing--exam and everything ('cept at my head. I didn't exactly want him at the other end. I didn't even like the doctor over there either!). The nurse came in and announced that she had done our "sixth test" and we needed to stop taking tests, that it was indeed positive. This week is my fifth week and I'm due around June 10, 2004. WOW. As for any symptoms I am having right now, I'm somewhat hungrier than normal, and I have to lay down a lot. A bit lightheaded....In my side, I'm having pulling pains---Karen and Andy said, "That's the uterus getting ready to make room---LOTS of room!" (That scared me!) The doc said that was a totally normal feeling and that I would be entering the sixth week next week and therefore, starting a time when I might have more morning sickness....This exhaustion thing is NO JOKE....Have I mentioned boob soreness????OUCH. last next |
