| Friday, March 5, 2004 End of 26 weeks, Start of 27 Weeks 13 weeks to go The latest news is that the nurse called the house this week and left a message for me to call them about the glucose test. I waited a day to call them back (which drove Chris up the wall!) and found out that my numbers were a little too high on the glucose test, and could I come in for the three hour glucose tolerance test? I took off work for today (Friday) and had it done. I had to fast after midnight Thursday (not hard...except that I really wanted my Special K and decaf coffee this morning and the doggers were really confused about why they didn't get their left over cereal milk this morning like usual). I went in at 8:30 and had my blood drawn by a too-loud woman who couldn't find anything in the room. I had my doubts about her as she jammed the needle in my arm. I told her the next time, I needed to hold the peach. (There was a rubber squeezee fake peach nearby and I need that not to jump too much when blood is taken out of my arm...she let me hold the peach the next few times.) I went back to the waiting room and read the rest of Soul Harvest (thank Goodness I'm done with it...what a draggy book...I need a recommendation for a good lighthearted book to read. Any suggestions?) After finishing the book and listening to the good ole boys from a certain cable company ramble on about their drug tests they had to take (they were jam packed in that waiting room), I tried to find a magazine, but there were only THREE. One Consumer Reports, one Sports Illustrated, and one Fit Pregnancy. I already had that last one at home, so I tried to read Consumer Reports, but it aggravated me. After my blood was drawn at 9:30, I asked for a private room, that I needed to lie down. The too-loud lady thankfully had one I could go in, and I took the pillow out of my backpack (I'm so slick) and promptly fell asleep. She woke me at 10:30 for another blood sample. Sore and ready to go home, I talked on my cell phone for about another hour until my last blood sample was taken at 11:30. Please say a prayer that I don't have gestational diabetes. However, if I do have it, it's not the end of the world. It's just the end of fun food...I should get my results in a few days. *********************************************************************** In nursery news, Dad and Chris got the nursery painted on Wednesday. The bottom half is a cool green and the top half is a cool blue. A white chair rail will be added this weekend or sometime soon to divide the two. The colors match the Amy Coe collection at T@rget. Chris and I found a crib we liked. It's a Jenny Lind style one and it was 150.00 at StorkL@nd here in Montgomery. Turns out that Mom was right---we found the same one for fifty bucks less at Toys R Us...So that will be coming home sometime next week. We are painting an older dresser we had in the bedroom white for the baby's room, and Yvette is giving me her old changing table, which should match the bed. Now all we have to do is find a fabulous rocker. We found some we loved at the expensive place and they were five hundred a piece....I want one....whine.... ************************************************************* Quick shoutout to my husband who I lurve. He painted my toenails the other night. He's the best husband in the whole world! Oh, and another shoutout....look at bottom of the page.... last next |

| Here's what the crib looks like. However, that centipede thing on the floor scares me. That will not be going into the nursery. *************Below: Congrats to Dave and Tracy Evans (Chris's cousin!) They had a very healthy (8 pds 14 ounces) little girl Feb. 28. Her name is Addison Grace. |
