Chris and I went to get the 3-D ultrasound yesterday and it was very cool. It seems that he has pretty chubby cheeks and, much to my surprise, he has no hair on his noggin yet. I was certain he would have hair there already, as his father and I have lots of hair to spare. :) Chris looked over what I wrote about the pictures and said, "You're paranoid about that nose thing, huh?" He laughed about it. I took comfort in knowing that his cousin Dylan looked like he had a squashed nose in his 3-D pictures too and he turned out fine. *********** Luke's paternal grandfather, Mike, emailed me to say, "You know that that kid is gonna be called Little Luke, right? Of The Real McCoys?" I had heard of The Real McCoys, but didn't know there was a Luke connection. (I be ignorant.) Looking up stuff about Little Luke McCoy, I ran across a lot of cool stuff. You have Luke News, for one. I thought that was cute. Here's another kid named Luke. There's the Dutch cowboy, Lucky Luke (look at the list of titles, hilarious!). Don't forget Saint Luke. Luke Wilson, the actor.. My favorite: Cool Hand Luke... and I won't even link Luke Duke or Skywalker... But about the Skywalker stuff---Chris wants to be able to say, "Luke, I am your father..." and he wants to teach him to say, "Noooooo!!! It's not true!!!!" That makes me laugh everytime he does it. ********************* According to the ultrasound lady, Luke weighs about two pounds and a half right now. He had the hiccups during the ultrasound show and I got to see his belly move with the hiccups as I felt them. The ultrasound lady and I talked about how it's weird that you feel the hiccups down near your pelvic region, but I guess it only makes sense---he's already head down. (Which, as poor jailbird Martha says, "is a good thing.") Here's what is going on with the baby at week 28. I'm having some serious backaches for the past two days. I made me a little rice sock that I microwave, then put it on my back. It helps a lot, but doesn't get rid of all the pain. I'll be glad when the big ole pool is back up in the back yard, it will take the pressure off my back. Later! American Idol is on! last next |
