March 23, 2004 29 Weeks 11 weeks to go!
A few days ago I ran into an old acquaintance from junior high school. She had a little boy with her--about nine months old. She freaked me out when she said she had him when she was only 29 weeks along! As far as I am!!! She also said she was in the hospital on bedrest for a month before he was born! I got in my car after that conversation and called up Chris, "We are very lucky, baby." The sweet little boy is just as cute and fat as he can be, but I bet that my friend and her husband had to go through a lot of worry when all that happened so early... Here's what is going on in week 29 to baby... ********* Nursery... Dad and Chris have worked on the nursery for a few weeks now and Chris got it finished in the past few days. It's awesome. I will take pictures soon and show them to ya. Yay! It makes it very real, standing over the crib and stuff. :) ********* Doctor Appointment Today I had another doctor appointment. From here on out, I'll be going every two weeks. That's exciting--it's moving it right along. While in the waiting room, I talked with a little cutie-pie of a two year old who had red curly hair and little overalls on. I asked him his name and he said, "Lucas." I thought that was cool. Today, while the nurse was listening to the baby's heartbeat, Luke kept kicking up his feet or hands at the wand. The nurse found it amusing. My normal doc wasn't here today so I got a different one---I think I'll keep him...what's funny is, when I mentioned the name of this new doctor to Mom, she laughed and said that was the son of some friends of hers from a long time ago. Get this---when HE (the doc) was born, Mom went to visit his mother and see him. When I was born, the lady and my now doctor came to visit mom and ME. Small world. Now he's gonna see my hoo ha. I'm calling tomorrow to request that he be my new doc. I'll send my old doc a Dear John letter or something. "It just wasn't working out...you blow." I hope they'll let me change. Like I told Chris, I like this guy's bedside manner a lot more. He rolled his eyes when I told him about me getting in "trouble" last month about my weight gain. He said it would be a problem if I was five two, not five eight. I only gained three pounds this time. Not bad! (I did make the mistake of opening my chart and seeing the actual numbers of my weight. Yowsers. I closed that sucker up in a hurry. WOW. And no, you ain't gonna find out.) ********
