Girl Scouting's Founder

The First "Daisy"

Born Juliette Gordon Low, but called "Daisy" by her family and friends, Girl Scouts' founder is one of the most interesting historical figures of her day.  Way ahead of her time, she demonstrated a boldness and audacity that garnered her a reputation for being nonconformist and, some even thought, eccentric.  However, one chooses to describe Juliette Low, it was her vision of girls' participation in American Society that led to the creation of the most well-known and largest organization for girls in the world.
