I'm Arashi, Senior Weyrwoman here. This is my gold, Teyath!" And followed closely by this woman is a blond man. "And I'm J'son, Senior Weyrleader and rider of bronze Path. Welcome!"

Crescent Moon Weyr is a crescent shaped group of islands in the western sea. The island in the center holds the main rider weyrs, Hatching Ground, and the smaller kitchen cavern. On a couple smaller islands to the south-east, the Weyr keeps their herdbeasts and other animals to feed the dragons. About the same distance away to the north-east is an island about half the size of the main island. This is where the smaller weyrs that the weyrlings sleep in, until their dragons grow too large, are located. Next to the main island is an island that has a large freshwater lake in the middle. Dragonriders, weyrlings and candidates alike can, and do, gather here. Wooden bridges connect the inhabited islands to one another for those who do not have their own dragons yet.

When Arashi's new weyrmate died she and gold Teyath fled their Weyr. They came here and formed Crescent Moon Weyr. Shortly after forming the Weyr Teyath laid her first clutch. Others, candidates and dragonriders, came to the Weyr and it quickly grew.

As the red star spins closer to pern, more dragonriders are needed to help protect the planet against it's ancient adversary. Some of the weyrs have grown to such sizes, that they must expand. One such new weyr is Crescent Moon Weyr, located on the western ring of islands.

This guild is based on Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series. If you haven't read it yet, I suggest you read it as it is a very good series!
