Gold
Gold dragons are often called queen dragons. They are the largest female dragon, ranging from 38 meters to 42 meters. Queens are rare and they produce the largest clutches, laying as many as 12 to 20+ eggs. They only Impress females. Golds do not chew firestone. The rider of the oldest queen is the Weyrwoman. In mating flights they are usually caught by bronzes, but sometimes they are caught by browns. ((Canon color))
Prism
Prisms are one of the most beatiful dragons as they can look as though they are made of crystal. They are the second largest female dragon ranging from 24 meters to 40 meters. They chose only females and clutch about 8 to 14 eggs but with more mutations. Prisms do not chew firestone. Depending on their size, prisms can be flown by bronze, browns, black or ash dragons.
Bronze
Bronzes are the largest of the male dragons, ranging between 35 meters and 40 meters in length. They choose only males. Bronzes normally fly queens or prisms but will sometimes fly silvers or blacks. Bronzes chew firestone. The rider of the bronze that fly the sr. queen is the Weyrleader. ((Canon color))
Black
Blacks are one of the most rare types of dragons. They generally Impress a human of the same gender as themselves who tend to be loners or very shy. They normally range from 35 meters to 40 meters but can vary. Male blacks chew firestone and usually fly other blacks. Female blacks chew firestone as well. Female blacks can clutch despite chewing firestone and are usually flown by male blacks. They clutch rarely though and tend to have about 12-16 eggs.
Brown
Browns are the third largest males and range from 30 meters to 38 meters. They only Impress males. Browns are considered the most dependable dragons. They chew firestone and generally fly fly Prisms or silvers, rarely queens. Brown riders are usually Wingleaders or Wingseconds. ((Canon color))
Silver
Silvers Impress only females. They range between 25 meters and 28 meters. They can clutch and tend to lay about 15 eggs. They don't clutch as often as golds though. They can be flown by any male dragon larger than them. They do not chew firestone.
Copper
Coppers can be male or female but, unlike blacks, generally Impress the same gender as themself though will occasionally Impress one of the opposite gender. They range about 25 meters to 30 meters but can vary. The males, they can fly silvers or anything smaller, and chew firestone. Females can clutch but usually just once in a lifetime. After their one clutch, which usually consists of about eight eggs, they chew firestone during threadfall.
Ash
Ash are very rare. They are one of the smaller males and Impress only males. They usually are 25 meters. They chew firestone. They can fly silvers but usually fly smaller dragons.
Blue
Blues can Impress male or female candidates though they are only male. They are swift and manuverable. They range about 23 meters. They chew firestone and, of all the colors, can belch the longest flame. They generally fly green or scarlet dragons. ((Canon color))
Scarlet
They are one of the smallest female dragons , and only Impress females. They are usually the same size as greens. Like the copper female, they clutch only once and clutch about ten eggs. After their clutch they will chew firestone. They are very agile and can be flown by any larger males.
Green
Green are the most common dragon in all of Pern. They are one of the smallest females and can Impress males or females. They are quite small, up to 24 meters in length. They are very fast and rise to mate often, but as they chew firestone they do not clutch. ((Canon color))
White
They are the smallest of all dragons, only reaching about 20 meters. They can be either male or female and always choose a rider of the same gender. They are the rarest of all dragons. They are the swiftest of dragons but cannot fly for long periods of time. Females rarely rise and do not clutch. Males can fly scarlets, greens, or other whites. Both chew firestone during threadfall although they cannot remain in the air for long. ((Canon color))
