English Springer Spaniels

English Springer Spaniels were used for flushing out or springing game to the hunter's net to be killed by hounds or falcons.  These handsome dogs came before working spaniel breeds except the Clumber Spaniel.  English Springer Spaniels are in the working strains, which are often larger and heavier with a preserved coat.  If you want a dog for working, then it is best to find one in the working strains.
