In a town like Port Charles, almost everyone has a connection to someone else. Be it reluctant business partners, past lovers, or parent and child...there's always some kind of connection. However, one of the strongest and most common connection between two people is between siblings. Sometimes it's an unwanted connection, a welcomed one, or in recent cases, even an unknown connection!
The
Dynamic Duo (AJ &
Skye) - When she first came to PC, Skye
had no friends, even her own family, the Quartermaines didn't accept
her. However, she found an unlikely ally in her brother, AJ Quartermaine.
Both of them had been seen as black sheep of their respective families
and each of them had also overcome an alcoholic addiction. Skye and AJ
soon became the closest members of the Quartermaine family. No matter
what, these two are always there for each other. Skye had even helped AJ
in his conquest of Courtney. Even when Skye was told that she wasn't a
true Quartermaine, AJ said that she would always be his sister. But both
of these black sheep have grown over the years with one another's help,
becoming better people. They've even been accepted by the Quartermaines
and have found love. However, Skye doesn't know about AJ's not so nice
alter ego, Junior. When the two of them meet, will the fur fly? Or will
Skye be able to save her brother?
Opposite
Sides of the Tracks (Nikolas & Lucky) - Although this brotherly pair are
closer than ever now, things haven't always been so peachy between Lucky
Spencer and Nikolas Cassadine. When Nikolas and Lucky first found out
that Laura Spencer mothered them both, their was an instant dislike
between them. During high school, Nikolas dated Sarah Webber who Lucky
had a crush on, furthering his dislike for his brother. It wasn't until
Nikolas and Lucky teamed up with Elizabeth and Emily to find a person
who was blackmailing Emily that the two started to build a relationship.
They saw that they could count on each other. When Lucky was thought to
have died in a fire, Nikolas mourned his brother but he had a feeling
that maybe Lucky was still alive. Nikolas's suspicions turned out to be
right and he and Elizabeth found Lucky alive and well in New York City.
Over time, Nikolas and Lucky have grown to become brothers to the
fullest extent of the word and with the addition of a third brother,
Talon Spencer, they're gonna have to be closer than ever to make him
feel like one of the family.
Strained
Emotions (Elizabeth & Sarah) - From their
initial meeting, Elizabeth Webber and Sarah Webber didn't get along.
Elizabeth resented Sarah, jealous of her being the "favorite" daughter
with their parents. Lucky had pined for Sarah but she was only
interested in Nikolas. It was only when she and Nikolas had broken up
that she wanted to date the man but by this time, he was already falling
in love with her sister. After Elizabeth was raped and Sarah learned
what had happened to her, the two sisters became closer, it seemed that
the rift between them had been repaired. When Sarah came back to town
after a stint in Europe, she had once again set her sights on the now,
more hunky, Lucky Spencer. The two of them were drawn to each other and
eventually succumbed to their passion, making love. Elizabeth walked in
on the "after glow" and was hurt beyond recognition. She cut both her
sister and Lucky out of her life. Now that Sarah is back in town, her
heart is still with Lucky but what will their sisterly rivalry be
resurrected when she finds out that Elizabeth and Lucky have found their
love again?
Uncommon
Bonds (Sonny & Courtney) - Courtney Matthews and Sonny Corinthos are two
completely different individuals with one thing in common, Mike Corbin.
When Courtney found out that her father was really alive, she also found
out that she had a brother in the form of Sonny Corinthos, the town's
local gangster. Sonny was instantly loving but overprotective of
Courtney. Their relationship left Courtney feeling smothered and often
alone, so she turned to AJ, Sonny's mortal enemy. Of course this didn't
go over well with Mr. Corinthos and he did everything in his power to
keep Courtney away from AJ, which only pushed her further away from
Sonny and into a quickie marriage with AJ. This obviously put Courtney
and Sonny at odds with one another most of the time. Things were have
thought to get when Courtney fell in love with Sonny's best friend,
Jason Morgan. Although, the pair were in love with each other, Sonny's
overbearing side reared it's ugly head and he forbid his sister to be
with Jason. With the help of Carly and through his own witnessing of
their love, Sonny gave his blessing to Jason and Courtney and the two
married. Even though Courtney is not fond of Sonny's business, she
loves him nonetheless. The two have had their ups and downs but when the
going gets tough, they're there for each other.
