LATEST MATCH REPORT:
United's latest game against West Ham United started off rather worryingly, after conceeding a goal only 53 seconds into the game. West Ham maintained the pressure throughout the first half, not allowing Manchester United to score, despite the chances they had. The second half could only improve for United, and only three minutes in, Rooney found the net. He continued to play well throughout the game, and twenty minutes later, John O'Shea scored from a Rooney corner. Nistelrooy came close to scoring, after a wonderful chip just hit the crossbar. Manchester United dominated the second half, even though West Ham had some good chances.
Roy Keane has ended his contract with Manchester United six months early, after choosing to leave the club. The club agreed to let him go, and he left on "mutual terms". Sir Alex has yet to decide whom will fulfil the captain's boots, however Nistelrooy, Giggs and Neville appear the favourites.
United legend George Best has passed away at the age of 59, after an ongoing battle with illness. Described by his son Callum Best as "a wonderful man", Best will be a United legend never forgotten.
| United fans can now skate outside Old Trafford. A recent project starting Saturday 26th November, and continuing until Sunday 8th January, is allowing both United fans and the general public to skate in a 720m square ice-rink, housed inside a glass dome. The ice-rink, which is situated in the E2 car park, will also feature a cafe, where friends and relatives can observe others skating.
