| Saturday 24th July 2004: Solskjaer is to miss the start of the new season, due to his reoccuring knee injury. After playing again in a game during the closed season, Solskjaer has had to miss all of the USA tour, and is being reffered to a specialist. |
| 19th August 2004: Solskjaer is now fearing his professional football career, as further damage, revealed by a scan earlier this month, has ruled him out for the entire 2004/2005 season. Advisors have warned Solskjaer that his knee may never be strong enough to withstand the pressures of professional football. Solskjaer has yet to make an announcement on the matter. |
| 22nd August 2004: It has been confirmed that Diego Forlan has been signed to the Spanish club, Villareal . The transfer was made earlier this week, and will be completed when Forlan passes the fitness test. |

| 24th August 2004: After his knee operation, doctors have confirmed that Solskjaer will be able to return to professional football, and is due to resume training with the rest of the squad in 10-12 months. He will be ready for the start of next season. |
| 27th August 2004: United's �20 million bid for Everton striker, Wayne Rooney has been rejected. Newcastle United have also had two offers rejected. Although Rooney has requested a transfer, he has not yet decided where he is to move to. Rooney has until Tuesday 31st August 2004, when the transfer window closes. |

| Wednesday 3rd November: United's man of the match from tonight's game has to be Rudd Van Nistelrooy. His exceptional performance gave United all four goals, bringing his total to 35 goals in 36 European matches. Ferguson described him as "certainly the best". |
| Friday 12th November: United have announced today that the Glazier family have been pressing the club to reveal confidential information, in order to develop their twice-failed takeover bid. Three of United's directors have lost their positions, due to the Glazier family opposing against the resolutions suggested by the board. |
| Tuesday 23rd November: Sir Alex Ferguson today celebrated 1000 games in charge of Manchester United. With 18 years at Old Trafford, and loosing only 188 games in his duration there, he is without a doubt, the best manager in British football. |
| Tuesday 30th November: Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Louis Saha will be out until January, due to a knee injury he has obtained during an international game with his country, France. |
| Wednesday 1st December: United have qualified for the semi finals of the Carling Cup, after defeating Arsenal 1-0. They will now face Chelsea in the semi- finals. |
| Wednesday 8th December: United are now through to the knock-out stages of the Champions League, despite the result of tonight's game. They finished second in Group D. Other British clubs that have also qualified include Liverpool and Arsenal. |
| Wednesday 26th January: United have been knocked out of the Carling Cup by Chelsea, after loosing 2-1 at Old Trafford. Chelsea will now face Liverpool in the final. |
| Saturday 29th January: United will go through to the next round of the FA Cup after beating Middlesborough 3-0. They will play Everton. |

| Manchester United have lost both legs against AC Milan, and are now out of the Champions League. Both games ended 1-0 to AC Milan, and they therefore won 2-0 on aggregate. |
| Manchester United have qualified into the semi-finals of the FA Cup, after beating Southampton on Saturday. United will now face Newcastle United in the semi final, which is to be held in April. |
| Manchester United have announced that their profits are lower this season that last season, by �11.3 million. The board have suggested that the possible cause of this is the failed take-over bid. The board are hoping that the stadium expansion will help to boost the profits in the following seasons, as well as developing the club's media rights. |
| Roy Carroll is set to leave United at the end of the season, as he has yet to renew his contract, which runs out on the 30th June. Should no attempt to renew it by then, he can leave the club freely. United are currently searching for someone to replace him. Possibilities include Shay Given, from Newcastle, Paul Robinson from Tottenham, Edwin van der Sar from Fulham, and various european clubs' keepers. |
| Tuesday 2nd August: United have now launched this season's new away kit- a brilliant blue top and shorts to match. This kit is the second blue kit that United have released, and it is hoped that it will bring the same success. |
| Tuesday 9th August: After several weeks of delay and confusion, Rio Ferdinand has comitted himself to another four years at Old Trafford- taking his contract into 2009. Ronaldo has also joined Rio in extending his contract, adding several more years to his United career. |
