Flexible Intermediate Bulk Carriers (FIBC's) or
Jumbo Bags as more commonly known, are giant bags in drum or box shape. They are
made of polypropylene (pp) and they are becoming an increasingly popular means
of packaging in the export business in various sectors such as agriculture
minerals, pharmaceuticals, sand, chemicals, fertilisers, food products, cement,
etc.
This industry has seen tremendous growth in the last decade. From a production
of 3 million FIBCs produced in 1988 it is estimated that around 100 million
FIBCs are produced today all over the world.
The load capacity of these bags ranges from 250Kg to 2000Kg and they are extremely convenient as far as loading and discharging is concerned.

Bulk packaging reduces the cost of packaging, speeds up the handling of the packaging material, and minimizes losses in pilferage and spillage. The material is UV stabilized, and can be made pest repellant and heat resistant.
PP bags are commonly used for packing products such as rice, sugar, beans, potatoes, fertilizers, animal feed, salt, flour, sand, cement etc.
