The driveway, located on the west side of the house, leads you to the back of the house. You will pass the Carriage House as you come up to the back entrance. This area was the turn around for horse and carriage as the west extension to the house had not been built. You will pass the herb gardens to our back door.
The two concrete steps bring you to a covered concrete platform to the side door. The covering to this area is an extended roof.

Another step to the right, leads you to a second entrance. This door opens to a stairway that goes up to the maids room, providing a separate and private access to and from these quarters.
The concrete extends along the side of the house where we are just a few steps away from our b.b.q. and where we store recepticals for recycling.
The entrance to the house opens to a landing where you can take the steps down to the basement, or go up a few steps to another door that leads into the kitchen. This double door entry provided the ability to lock the kitchen door and still give access to the basement for workmen during renovations.
