Last entry: Night Train to Memphus

I hadn't planned to go out this weekend but I got a call on Saturday evening from David who was just around the corner with his new steady, Jeff, getting ready to have dinner. He said there was still about a half hour wait and wanted to know if I wanted to join them. Though this place "The Garden Cafe" is just a round the corner from me I have only been to it two previous times in all the years I have lived here in the city. It is fairly expensive and sort of out of the way. It is definitely not a cafe it is like a number of places here in town that call them selves bistros, they choose the name not because they serve hardy working meals the way cafes and bistros do in Europe but because the name conjures up images of a small intimate eatery. These places even when small and intimate are way to expensive to remotely resemble European bistros.
I ended up having a good time Jeff whom I met for the first time came as a bit of a suprise. He was somehow different then the guys that David normally dates. He was intelligent, articulate, witty and quite good looking. None of these are qualities that differ from what the guys David normally dates have but somehow are put together differently in Jeff. I really liked him. I will fortunately not be seeing the two of them very often, Jeff is a Flight Attendant and between his and David's busy schedules they will be quite busy. This is a good thing because I could get to really enjoy his company and David's track record for longevity lately hasn't been very good. On top of which he is still talking of a move to L.A.
As I said we three ended up having a really good time. We ended up staying at the restaurant for about three hours, including cocktails at the bar, dinner and coffee back at the bar afterward. All in all a very good evening.
