| Dear Journal, This weekend is finally over. It was a busy one and when this coming week is over I will have worked for 19 days straight. I know that I will be totally ed fagged by then. This has been the second of two weekends I have spent working out of town to register new students. This weekend I went to St. Louis to help register about 100 students. I had hoped to have time to stop and see Ellen while I was in St. Louis, but this weekend turned out to be as full as I expected and I didn't even get a chance to call her. I got to the university first thing Saturday and started to help load up the car. I was surprised to find that the two woman I was driving up with were also smokers and that we would be smoking in the car. This is such a novelty for me, that I was uncomfortable doing it all the way up. The trip up was enjoyable, one of the things I like best about these trips is that I get to know some of my co-workers better as people not just as co-workers. The conversation was good and the time just flew by. Once we arrived at the hotel, where the event was to be held, we joined several other staff members for drinks before dinner and relaxed. We then had a very good dinner there in the hotel, normally we go out to a nice restaurant for dinner but this time had it right there. Sat around and shot the bull for a couple of hours then called it an early night. The event itself went well. We worked from 7:30 until about 4:00 in the afternoon and then headed back to town. Once again we ate dinner in the car. We didn't arrive home until nearly 9:00 pm. Though I enjoyed the trip it did make for a long weekend. ciao |
