Lesson # 14241
This was the weekend to celebrate my birthday.  It is not the weekend for my birthday that will be next week, but  Charles, Andy and David will all be busy that weekend so I went to see a play and to dinner w/ Andy on Sunday.  Mary and I started a tradition several years ago where we would take each other to J. Gilberts Stake House in Overland Park, a western (Kansas) suburb of Kansas City, for each of our birthday dinners.  Our birthdays was about the only time either of us had steak and we both thought that J Gilbert was the best steak house in the city.  Keep in mind that Kansas City is known for our steak, so that is saying a lot.  Well since Mary is now in Colorado I went with Andy.  J. Gilberts didn't let us down.  Their steak was as good as ever.  We finished the night out by going to see "Sisters Matsumoto" Playing at the Missouri Repertory Theatre.  This is a play about three Japanese American Sisters and their family's experience during and after the Second World War.  It takes place after they are released from the Internment Camps and how they deal with the aftermath of the war and its ravishing effects on their lives. Though the woman beside us was bored with the play both Andy and I really enjoyed the story, the background information and the acting.  All in all it was a very good evening.  Knowing that next weekend was going to be a quiet one I really relished this past one.
