Anthony: I absorb it.
Geoff: 21 points of damage.
Tony: Did I walk out of it?
Geoff: You will. Anthony, 14, that's it. Initiative.
Larry: I'll roll it ... aw, slay me.
Geoff: You got a 1? I got a 1.
Tony: Count, Geoff, how many?
Geoff: There's 6. Chris, 23, Tony, 17, you, 5, --
Larry: 140.
Geoff: Already hit or not?
Larry: No.
Geoff: Still alive. Andrew 12.
John: 83 points of damage.
Geoff: Uh, they've all been hit, so it's dead.
Anthony: 72.
Geoff: 72, dead.
Tony: 119.
Geoff: I guess that's dead.
Chris: 65.
Geoff: He's dead.
Chris: Okay, 64 on another one.
Geoff: Dead.
Larry: Andrew does 121.
Geoff: Dead. All dead.
Chris: Alright.
John: Let's get out of here.
Geoff: After traveling for half a mile, the trees are getting a little thinner, the swamp is
starting to dry out a little, it's still squishy. And you can see a rise with
scintillating colors at the top, it's about a 600 foot rise.
Tony: Let's go for it.
Larry: Geoff, I go up that hill.
Geoff: Yeah. It's very very hard, as if something's pushing you back. You travel about 5
feet, you get pushed forward.
Chris: You're getting sucked in.
Larry: Did I go through the barrier?
Geoff: Oh, no, don't worry about that, you're still about 300 feet away.
Larry: Oh.
Geoff: Climbing up this embankment, youre being pushed forward, then pushed back, sideways
... you'll eventually get there. At the top you can see a big massive figure.
Larry: What is it?
Geoff: Orcus.
Tony: First thing Im doing is healing myself.
Larry: It's his fucking weapon.
John: He doesn't want it destroyed. Heal.
Chris: Heal myself. You need to be healed?
Anthony: Yes.
Chris: Heal.
Larry: Somebody haste me.
Geoff: There are 2 figures up there now.
Tony: Haste on me, you can't haste yourself?
Larry: I used it.
Tony: I've got 2, I got my own bracers --
Chris: Let the DM talk.
Tony: Okay. No, but I can do beyond that. Haste on all of you.
Geoff: You can tell by [?] any missile weapons will not work. Very effectively, until you get
out of this wind. Cause it's strong.
Larry: What, will it give us a penalty? For hitting?
Geoff: Yeah, about a -7.
Larry: Ill take it.
Chris: What will, the wind?
John: I'll take the chance.
Chris: Now, wouldn't my free action and my strength of 20 help me out?
Anthony: Armor class.
Geoff: No. As I was about to say, this figure moves. Now there are 2. The other creature, you
don't recall seeing him before. I'll show you a picture.
Chris: Oh, first attacks always miss. Remember that.
[DM shows picture of creature.]
Larry: Fuck, he just gated him in?
Tony: Cacodemon.
Anthony: Who's up there now?
Geoff: There are 2 figures, Orcus, and that guy.
Tony: Okay, guys, conference.
John: That's 2 guys too many.
Larry: Geoff, do I see a colored pool or something which will destroy the wand?
Geoff: Yes. Behind him. Too far away to throw it.
Chris: Dimension door behind him and --
Larry: We can't dimension door, teleport, blink --
Anthony: [?] invisible.
Tony: We'll have to do this like --
Larry: [?] don't have.
Chris: With his exceptional speed, the monk with his exceptional speed --
Larry: They see everything.
Chris: -- can tear around.
Tony: I've got a suggestion.
Anthony: Go around their feet.
Geoff: I'm having the same effect that you guys are, because [?]
Larry: I got an idea, we kill him.
Chris: I got a better idea --
Tony: We do this the same way Tolkien's hobbits do it: one guy carries it, the rest of us
have to give him cover, in other words, we tear into these guys with whatever we got,
even if we die, but the other guys got to have cover to make it, these guys got to be
diverted.
John: Me.
Chris: I'll do it.
Anthony: I'll take it.
Chris: I'll do it.
John: I'll take it.
Anthony: Ill do it, I got the most [hit points].
John: [I've only got] 36 points of damage.
Chris: He's got the most hit points.
Anthony: I've got the most hit points, let me take it.
Larry: We're not gonna argue. He's gone.
Tony: You're gone, John?
John: Yeah.
Tony: Okay, the rest of us, we know what our job is.
Larry: You're a paladin, remember that.
Tony: Hey, does he know which one of us has the wand?
Chris: He does now.
Tony: Yeah, I guess he does.
Chris: He fucking senses that thing.
Tony: John, you're gonna start off behind us, we'll go in front of you.
John: No problem. [?]
Tony: That's your mission, John.
John: [?] the blanket. The blanket of life.
Geoff: How many charges are left?
John: One. Ive got another something else to back me up, too, so --
Chris: I could have done it, I've got a ring of regeneration, I've got a fucking gem of
resurrection, --
Tony: John, you want a shield on you also?
John: Whoever is going to do it is taking a chance in itself anyway. If you have more hit
points you're gonna get more damage. [Apparently the DM is not in the room.]
Chris: Not necessarily.
Tony: John, you want a shield on you also?
Anthony: Yeah, give him one.
John: Could try it.
Tony: Geoff, he's got a shield spell on him also.
Geoff: Who cast it on him?
Tony: I did.
Geoff: It won't work on him. It only works on the guy casting it.
Tony: No, you can cast it on somebody else.
Geoff: I don't think so.
Tony: Check.
Larry: I'm pretty sure the range is 0. Only the caster.
Geoff: What level?
Tony: One, first.
Geoff: Range is 0.
Tony: Okay, okay. I thought I could put that on somebody else. I could have sworn I could.
John: Larry, you don't have anything to bring yourself back to life, eh?
Larry: Me? I do.
John: Yeah? Who doesn't?
Anthony: I don't.
John: You don't?
Larry: Andrew.
John: I give you the blanket, then.
Larry: What does Andrew have?
Anthony: No, take it.
Tony: John, you've got to make that trip. You got to make that trip even if you fall dead
the first time you got to make that trip.
Larry: Geoff, are the wolverines here? Could they physically make it up to here?
Geoff: Yeah.
Larry: Then Andrew fucking disappears, he hangs onto one of his wolverines, and they dart
away.
Geoff: Theyre having the same trouble.
Larry: Yeah, yeah.
Geoff: Okay.
Anthony: What about an arrow of slaying clerics, would that do anything to him?
Larry: He'd laugh at it.
Tony: John, make some prayers. This is the situation which calls for it.
Chris: I pray to all my gods.
John: Oh, I'm praying.
Tony: Maybe one of us should go with John, any way.
Anthony: I'll go.
Tony: No, I'll go with you, John.
Chris: Hmmph. Fighting for death.
Larry: Fuck, who's going to attack them?
John: Look, there's 6 guys, there's 2 demons.
Tony: Okay, John, stick with the original plan.
Anthony: Aren't we all running with him?
Larry: As long as Im in short range.
John: We're hasted too. I move 48.
Tony: Just keep us between you and him.
Larry: Do you have a ring of free action?
John: Yeah. Slow won't bother me.
Geoff: [shows map.] This is uphill. Orcus. Fruz, whatever his name is. That is a color pool,
1000 feet away from them. They are 600 feet away from you. Where did Andrew go?
Larry: He'll go behind Orcus. He's tougher.
John: You think.
Geoff: You can't see any effect of the wind on these guys.
Chris: Okay, let's give them everything we've got. It doesn't amount to much, but --
Tony: We'll see.
Larry: When I haste, that includes the 2 wolverines and Andrew.
Tony: If it's not enough, I can haste myself, I don't need his haste spell.
Chris: Can we have a double haste?
Tony: Yeah, okay, Ill haste you all.
Geoff: You can't have a double haste. The haste is only working at half strength.
Anthony: So if we do a double haste does that mean we --
Tony: Fine, Geoff, Geoff, I got a --
