Geoff: Anthony, what do you do?
Anthony: Well, if everyone's standing around attacking this bastard, I'll attack him.
Geoff: John?
John: Yeah, I’m going for him, too.
Geoff: Larry?
Larry: How many dretches are left?
Geoff: 16.
Larry: I wonder what fireball would do to these fuckers?
Chris: They'd enlarge. What a trip.
Tony: What does fireball do to them? Does anybody know?
John: Nobody knows.
Tony: Well, let's try it. Geoff, I fire a fireball at them. What does it do? 36 points of
damage.
Geoff: Larry, you didn't tell me what you were doing.
Larry: I'll attack the dretches.
Geoff: Tony?
Tony: I fire a fireball at them, 36 points of damage, what does it do to them?
Geoff: No spells work, no weapons seem to have their magical powers.
John: Anti-magic shell.
Geoff: Yeah.
Larry: I move. It stays in one place, I move.
Chris: Yeah, I’m not in that area, eh?
John: Back out.
Geoff: The Type I demon stays there. The dretch are following you.
Anthony: Keep going. [?]
John: Direct all my attacks on them.
Larry: The demon stayed in the same place?
Geoff: Yeah. He's in the anti-magic shell.
Tony: Dispel it, Geoff.
Larry: It's an abjuration, it should work.
Tony: Tell me if it's dispelled, Geoff.
Geoff: What level magic-user are you, Tony?
Tony: 15.
Geoff: You have a 65% chance of dispelling it.
Tony: Missed it.
John: What?
Anthony: Get out of the area.
Geoff: The dretch followed you, 7 points of damage each.
Larry: Do they have any intelligence?
Chris: What's their hit dice?
Geoff: Semi to low.
John: Why do you want to know their hit dice? You can't know that.
Chris: Awe power. What's their hit dice?
Geoff: Hit dice, 6.
Chris: Oh, okay, can't affect them.
Larry: Geoff, I don't know if this will work, but, I toss some gold pieces on the ground.
See if any will stop.
Geoff: Only 7 of them do. Those 7 leave.
Tony: Geoff, I try a fireball on them and see what happens. 12 points. What does it do?
Geoff: It won't work, it's an evocation. Oh, sorry, that's invocation.
Tony: Does it work?
Geoff: Yes, it will.
Tony: What does it do? Regular damage?
Geoff: Yeah.
Tony: If that's the case, then --
Chris: Fry the sons of bitches.
Tony: That's exactly what I plan to do.
Larry: Andrew does a flame strike.
John: Geoff, 26th level dispel magic on the anti-magic shell.
Geoff: Yeah.
John: Yeah?
Geoff: The demon knows [that you dispelled it], and he goes for you.
John: Thank you.
Tony: I cast 4 fireballs off the wand. 36, 24, 30, and 24. Spread them out so I get maximum
area.
Larry: Geoff, Andrew does 24 points of damage with a flame strike, on the dretch.
Geoff: One of them dies, the rest made their magic resistance and their saving throws.
Anthony: 136 on the demon.
John: Geoff, 95 points of damage on the demon that's coming to me, I go to him.
Geoff: It's dead.
John: It's dead? I hit it again and again until its head comes off.
Larry: I check out this demon.
Geoff: It's a vrock. It's 9 feet tall, it's got a bird's head, it's got no armor, no weapons.
A few of the other dretch take off. There's 2 left there, fighting ... you kill them
off.
Anthony: I take the vrock's head.
John: Let's get the fuck out of here.
Geoff: The noise you heard behind you a little while ago, nobody checked, was the dragon,
it's halfway through, it's lying down, it's black, blood is pouring out of it. Is anybody
going over to it?
John: Yes.
Anthony: Yes.
Geoff: Okay, it says, "There should be a color pool about 2 miles that way." It points its
head.
John: Geoff, is there a possibility to save this creature?
Geoff: You can try.
Chris: Put a resurrection spell on it.
Larry: Push it back into the Prime.
John: Yeah.
Anthony: We all can.
Geoff: Okay, it's back to half hit points.
Chris: Okay we toss it up there.
Larry: Let's get out of here and do our job.
Chris: We haul ass for 2 fucking miles.
Larry: Geoff, would it be worth it for us to be invisible? Would it even work here in this
fucking place?
Geoff: What kind of spell is it?
Larry: Mass invisibility, it's a, uh, illusion/phantasm.
Geoff: It should work.
Larry: Okay, I read it right off the book.
Geoff: But, greater powers will likely see it.
Larry: Well, maybe the dretches won't.
Geoff: You don't know that.
Chris: Well, I got a ring.
Tony: I got a spell.
Larry: I do it to the party, Geoff.
[TAPE CHANGE]
Larry: So the whole party's invisible.
Geoff: So, you're meandering through this swamp, for 2 miles. Some places you sink up to your
knees.
Chris: I’m not slowed, I got a ring of free action.
John: I got a ring of free action.
Geoff: Whoever doesn't is slowed. You'll meet -- you'll hear him, initiative. 2.
Chris: 3.
Geoff: These demons are leaping out of the trees on top of you. They are bar-Iguras. They
look like yeti. [Shows picture.]
Larry: Oh, my God.
Anthony: What's their armor class?
Geoff: -6.
Larry: Geoff, blade barrier.
Geoff: It has to be supported on something.
Larry: The tree?
Geoff: I think it has to be vertical. Check it out. While you're checking it out, let me know
what kind it is.
Larry: It's an evocation. A wall of circling blades ...
Geoff: It will work. I don't know if --
Chris: Because we used to be able to have a blade barrier floating above the water. Eating
the shit out of ships.
Geoff: I think you did that wrong, though.
John: We did. That won't happen again.
Larry: It doesn't say it has to be on a solid surface. Unless that's in the DM Guide.
Geoff: Okay, what's the damage from that?
Larry: Uh, 8d8, no save.
Geoff: There are 10 of these things.
Anthony: [?]
Chris: What's their armor class?
Geoff: -6.
John: Geoff, 88.
Anthony: 84.
Chris: Does it kill them? [?]
Geoff: No, it doesn't kill them.
Chris: 107 points of damage. Does that kill them?
Geoff: This damage is presuming they're not dead after this blade barrier.
Anthony: Uh, yeah?
Chris: Does 107 kill it?
Geoff: Well, wait until they come through the blade barrier.
Larry: 16. The blade barrier. 145 from me.
Geoff: 16 from the blade barrier? They’re still alive. Okay, Tony?
Tony: Hang on a sec ... 121.
Geoff: 121?
Tony: Yeah.
Geoff: They're still alive.
Larry: Hey, Andrew still has time ... 94.
Geoff: Fin, saving throw against spells.
Larry: Spells? Yes, by one point.
Geoff: It was a symbol, pain. By the way, you guys were invisible when these guys attacked
you. 23 [on Chris]. Anthony, 17. John, 14. Larry, 19. Andrew, 20. Tony, 16. And 16 on
me. Initiative. 1.
Anthony: 5.
Larry: How many are left alive?
Geoff: 10.
Larry: Pass me the holy hand grenade. Geoff, I do, a dig spell in front of one of them.
Geoff: How deep?
Larry: 5 feet. Wait, I can do 15 5 foot cubes.
Geoff: Okay, it falls in, you hear him hit the bottom, then you see him jump back out. He
does get damage, though. How deep was it?
Larry: Aw, what a waste of time, man.
Anthony: Are we still under that haste?
Chris: What haste? We aren't under haste.
John: 84 points of damage.
Geoff: On one that was already damaged?
John: Yeah.
Geoff: Dead.
Tony: 90 on another one that's already damaged.
Geoff: Dead.
Anthony: 80.
Geoff: Dead.
Chris: 121 on one that wasn't damaged.
Geoff: Still alive.
Tony: How many are left?
Geoff: 7.
Larry: 138.
Geoff: Dead. Or -- is this on one that's already damaged, or not?
Larry: Not.
Geoff: Still alive.
Larry: And Andrew hits that one ... 81.
Geoff: Okay, it's dead. Tony, darkness spell around you.
Tony: I walk out of it.
Larry: Is it on you, or on the ground --
Tony: I don't know yet.
