This is a special piece to me because it is the first freestanding sculpture I've done. This work is all about the sense of space and how objects fill this space. When planning the design I wanted to create some thing that moved through space as if itself were part of that space.
I next played with the notion that something that blended in with the surrounded space could also take up a great deal of it. When looking at the sculpture from different sides it seems to become larger and smaller like it is breathing up and down.
