Okay, this is a must do for all boaters. There is always something going on for everyone at Putin Bay. The Mardi-Gras of the Midwest. Definitely checkout these sites and ask around. This is a MUST VISIT for all boaters. The island is home to the worlds longest bar, the Beer Barrel Saloon. There are multiple restauraunts, hotels, public boat docks with showers, a winery and much, much more. If you're looking for a great party weekend then you'll want to be there for Christmas in July. Actually, every weekend is a party at Putin Bay!
If you don't plan to travel by boat you can take the jet express to the island
(The island also has an airport).

Kelly's Island is another gem in Ohio on Lake Erie, not far by boat from Michigan. Kelly's is smaller than Putin-Bay, a little more reserved, but still an excellent place to visit for more of a low key weekend. The island has great restaurants, marinas, bars and sightseeing. This spot is another BoatGathering.com favorite.

Cedar Point is a great amusement park with a really great marina. What better way to visit the park than to go by boat. We recommend spending one night at Kelly's Island and heading to Cedar Point in the morning. It's a very short tirp. You can see the amusement park from Kelly's Island. Spend another night at the marina at Cedar Point. If you are going by boat, don't forget to pick-up your park discount coupons at the marina office. Every passenger on your boat receives discounts on park admission. Last year it used to be $10 off per ticket.
Pelee Island

Pelee Island is another great island to visit. Pelee Island is less populated than Kelly's and Put-In-Bay, yet it is still a nice boating adventure. A trip to Pelee is more of a laid back, relaxing trip. Pelee Island is in Southern Ontario, Canada, but is just a short trip from Ohio and Michigan.
