Blue supergiants
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Very little is known about blue stars. There are less than 50 we know of. Blue stars are the hottest of all stars. Blue stars are so hot, they are able to become massive blue SUPERGIANT stars. Tne hottest of blue stars has a surface temperature of around 25,000 degrees celcius. These are unimaginably huge. If the sun was the size of a pea, a blue supergiant would be larger than a basketball. Blue supergiants only occur when a smaller star is about to die, i.e. it has used up all of its hydrogen. Blue supergiants usually create a supernova when they finally run out of useable fuels. Supernova are colossal explosions, bigger than anything imaginable.
