| We hung out in Santiago, Chile for about a day. We were not going to stay that long but the bus ride to Mendoza was canceled because the border patrol was closed, due to snow. The border patrol is located deep in the Andes mountains. We stayed in the worst roach motel here in Santiago. It was nasty, stinky, dirty, with a leaky roof in our room. The bathroom came with hairs and stains on the toilet. We saw two movies in the one day we were here (Single Father and Cinderella). They actually had American popcorn here. This was the first time that we have been able to have salted popcorn in South America. Every other place only offers sugar popcorn down here.
