Horoscope:
Most people claim to be astute, yet often find it hard to tell when they are being lied to. Tricksters know how to take advantage of this. They play on our trust, abuse our good nature and allow us to live in ignorance about their true intentions. We are all easily fooled. But sooner or later we wise up, and then we seek revenge. We understand this, yet when we are in a difficult situation, we are still tempted to fib our way out of it. A white lie here, a half-truth there … what harm will it do? Plenty. This week, if you want to solve a problem, be honest, be sincere and brazen things out. (Jonathan Cainer)

26TH JUNE 2003: BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE
Everyone should see Bowling
For Columbine. I am perhaps saying this because I am very anti-USian. Okay, not to an extreme extent. I watch the television, I listen to the music. I am perhaps anti-US culture dispersion and the politics of the country. I hate the way that they take over a situation and think that they have the right to tell another country what it is that they should do. Bowling For Columbine displays this much better than I am able to in one scene of the documentary. It is the scene in which Michael Moore examines the US’s position in taking over and dictating the specifics of who and how a country is ruled. I
believe that a country should NOT be run by a tyrannical dictator, however it is not up to one country who believes that they are the ultimate power, to sanction the assassination of another person because they do not like the way that it is being run.
I DO NOT like the way in which Australia is becoming USinized and we refer to US
President George Bush as ‘The President’. He is not our president, though he may as well be. I am going to study my position much further and add a coherent entry at some time in the future with examples to set my point. However, it was said:
"Moore makes the mind swim with the atrocities and poignancies on
display. 'Bowling for Columbine' should be mandatory viewing." (Mary Corliss, Film Comment)
I think that she says it all and if I were happy with the current government I would say that I am proud to be Australian. However I AM proud to say that I live in a country where each shooting, though very rare and often the offenders are those in power, makes the headlines. And I AM proud to live in a country where our children do not have to go through metal detectors to go to school. I am proud not to be from the US.
One more thing, does anyone think that the United States of America is an appropriate name for a country where each and every state has different legislation?
