Jimmy was born with the last name "Rudi", but when the family moved to Maine, the family name was changed to "Gidaro". Jimmy was about 13 at that time. About 10 years later he changed the family name to "Gedaro" for himself as well as all of his younger brothers and his mother and the family all went by "Gedaro" ever since.
