and heir of Thomas Taylor , deeded to Jos. Wildy land which now resides
in Wicomico district of Northumberland Co. 1745. Mentioned in settlement
of estate of his father, Thomas Gill in 1746 & 1748. No children
of Ellis mentioned in his father's will c1739. In obedience to an order

Possible Four Children of Ellis Gill and ____ Ingram (Ingram, Wm., Betty,
Taylor):
- Ingram Gill b<1751. Ingram Gill former owner of a slave now belonging
to ___ Johnson of Albermarle, the slave to be this day hanged for felony,
11 Nov. 1772. Court held Charles City Co., VA (Legislative Journals
of the Council of Colonial Virginia, III 1597; Mrs. Clark p69). Ingram
Gill does not appear in the1782-1785 Virginia Census.
- William Gill b<1729 d1780-8. Difficult to assign, two weak clues:
cannot be placed elsewhere, and a grandson was named Ingram Allen Gill.
This William Gill, who died in Mecklinburg Co., VA, could fit in any
of several places. William Gill died 1780-81 Mecklinburg Co., VA, married
Frances. Mecklinburg and Lunenburg Counties are adjacent and on the
lower Virginia border about midway in from the coast. Henrico Co. lies
to the north of the James River. Chesterfield County lies just across
the river to the south of the James and north of the Appomattox River.
Continuing to the SW are Dinwiddie (then Prince George & Amelia
to the sides) Lunenburg and Mecklenburg Counties, Mecklenburg bounded
on the south by the Roanoke River. Halifax Co. lies just to the west
of Mecklenburg Co. Therefore, these records could be of Henrico, Chesterfield
Gills. Will 23 July 1780-12 Feb. 1781. To wife Frances. To dau. Frances.
To dau. Nanny Grier. to daus. Sarah, Jane, and Mary. To dau. Obidience.

- Notes for PATIENCE BERRY:
Daughter of Thomas Berry of Northumberland County, Virginia per Iona
Ingram Sowa "My Ingram Family."
- The following was documented from Mary Ingram Stultz's book, Ingram
Family History. p 107.
On 22 Feb. 1796, a "Deed of Release" was executed by Patience
Ingram, widow of John Ingram whose will was previously recorded in this
section. The release reveals further insight into this family.
Children of JOHN INGRAM and PATIENCE BERRY are:
24. i. MOSES5 INGRAM, b. Abt.
1751, Brunswick County, Virginia; d. Oct 1784, Brunswick County, Virginia.
25. ii. JOHN INGRAM, b. Abt. 1746,
Brunswick County, Virginia.

b. Abt. 1754, Brunswick County, Virginia; m. JOHN LANIER.
26. iv. MARY ELIZABETH INGRAM,

vii. THOMAS INGRAM (Source: Iona Ingram Sowa. My Ingram Family 1651-1925.),
b. Abt. 1762; m. MARY ANN UNKNOWN.
Notes for THOMAS INGRAM:
Looking back to the records of Brunswick County, Virginia, we know
that John Ingram wrote his last will and testament on 26 Sep 1786.
He bequeathed his land and plantation situated in St. Andrews Parish
“Unto my son Thomas Ingram after the decease of my loving wife
Patience.” He further bequeaths “unto my six children
John Mary Sarah Nancy Betty Patty what I’ve already given them.”
Also mentioned is a granddaughter Elizabeth Gray Ingram. On 22 Feb.
1796, a deed was recorded in Brunswick County VA in which Patience
Ingram released her rights to a portion of the personal estate left
to her by way of her deceased husband’s will. For love and affection,
she releases the personal property to John Ingram, Mary Love, Sarah
Dameron, Nancy Lanier, Betty Meredith, Patty Clay, & Thomas Ingram
& Elizabeth Gray Ingram.” So looking at the Cabarrus County
record, it is clear that Thomas Ingram died shortly after his mother’s
release of his father’s estate. Thomas Ingram was married, but
appears to have had no children as legal heirs. His wife married second
to Sterling Tucker of Virginia. In Cabarrus NC, James and wife Mary
Ingram Love sold their rightful one-seventh portion of the estate
to Mary’s former sister-in-law’s new husband. Since the
Love’s were now living in North Carolina, the transaction was
executed by Hartwell Tucker for James Love and John Dameron for Mary.
1 Dec 1797 James Love was jurat, witnessing the transaction of 25
acres sold to Thomas Ingram by Bonner Bird.
28. viii. PATSY INGRAM, b.
Abt. 1765, Brunswick County, Virginia.
13. MARY4 INGRAM (CHARLES3, THOMAS2, JOHN1) (Source:
Iona Ingram Sowa. My Ingram Family 1651-1925.). She married AMOS LOVE
(Source: Internet [email protected] contact.) in Northumberland,
Co. Virginia. He was born 1705, and died 1773.
14. JOSEPH4 INGRAM (CHARLES3, THOMAS2, JOHN1) (Source:
Lee Virgil Ingram Line) was born Abt. 1725 in Northumberland County, Virginia,
and died 23 Dec 1793 in Brunswick County, Virginia. He married (1) FRANCES
LINAH GASKINS (Source: Iona Ingram Sowa. My Ingram Family 1651-1925.),
daughter of ISAAC GASKINS. She was born Abt. 1730 in Northumberland, County,
Virginia.
- Notes for JOSEPH INGRAM:
Iona Ingram Sowa book My Ingram Family: It appears that John Ingram
and his younger brother Bartholomew Ingram moved to Brunswick Co while
their brother Joseph Ingram moved to Sussex Co.
- Braseton Robinson was appointed guardian to Sarah, Patsy, and Winney,
orphans to Joseph Ingram.
