Matthew begins this section with Jesus teachings on marriage and divorce and what is needed to be perfect with God. Afterward, Matthew writes of the parable of the workers in the vineyard and Jesus third prediction of the Passion. After this, Jesus makes his renowned entry into Jerusalem where he is rejoiced and praised. Upon his entry Jesus cleanses the Temple, by throwing out all the sellers and buyers there, and then curses a fig tree to show the effects of lack of faith. Later, Jesus is questioned multiple times by many people to try to outwit him, but all of these are failing attempts and from that point on is never questioned again. After this, he criticizes the scribes and Pharisees for being hypocrites and foretells the destruction of the Temple. While Jesus remaining time in Jerusalem dwindles he begins to tell parables stating that everyone must be prepared for the final judgment and that you must take risks and invest with your faith if you expect it to grow. Lastly, Jesus tells of the judgment of nations and stats that he should be seen in every person. This is the last public teaching Jesus makes, other than to his disciple, in the Gospel of Matthew.
