At the beginning of this section, John the Baptist sends his followers to ask Jesus if he truly is the Messiah. Upon asking Jesus this, Jesus reminds them that the Messiah is not, as many think, going to be a great king dressed in fine clothing. After being visited by Johns followers, he begins to travel to unrepentant towns and tell them of their coming doom and is once again recognized as the Son of God. Once again the Pharisees begin to question Jesus because his disciples are picking grain on the Sabbath and once again Jesus dodges their questions and continues to travel along doing miracles, such as healing a man with a withered hand and a mute. The Pharisees continue to bother Jesus, asking for a sign, but Jesus tells them that an evil and ungrateful generation seeks a sign, dodging their questions again. After this, Jesus begins to tell parables, to help make his message easier to understand. For instance he uses the Parable of the Sower to show how you living his word are much more important than simply believing in it. Finally, once again, Jesus reminds his followers that the good will be rewarded in heaven, and the bad will be sent to the underworld.
