Part III: Ministry and Mission in Galilee (Mt 8-11:1)

After the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus begins to perform many miracles, such as the cleansing of a leper, healing of a centurions servant, calming the sea, and the healing a paralytic, a mute, and two blind men. It is also during this time when the Pharisees begin to question his decisions like how he chose a tax collector as his disciple and how he sits with sinners. However, Jesus dodges these questions and continues to gain followers, so much so that he must obtain a total of twelve disciples who will help him spread his word. Finally, toward the end of this section, Jesus tells the disciples of the coming persecutions and reminds them of their rewards in heaven.
