Earth is the third closest planet to the sun and is the fifth largest planet. As far as we know earth is the only planet to have and living organisms, mainly because it has the only atmosphere possible of being habitable. The Earth's atmosphere is bulit so that any small meteors or asteroids that stray into it's direction will burn up before they get close to the Earth, helping our existance on this planet to last.
