There are only a few RPGs on N64, But THQ is going to change that
soon....again. THQ produced one of the only RPGs for the system,
Quest 64. Q64 was not a very big sucsess but THQ says that it was
because they rushed the game into production. THQ says that they
will never do that again and that they have learned their leson.
Aidyn Chronicles:The First Mage is a traditional RPG with
wizards, dragons all the old school stuff. H2O, which is located
in Canada, has been given the task to develop this game. H2O is
working with a creator of one of the popular pen and paper games,
so you can be sure there will be lots of items and all
the stuff you can find in those games.
AC:TFM will feature 40 hours of game play, many cut-scenes,
13 playable characters, and a epic storyline. Your main character,
Alaron, has been poisoned by goblins. Alaron's only hope are the
Mirari, an ancient race known for thier healing powers. Alaron
starts his journey on to the capital of the Mirari. The anwsers
he seeks only lead to more question, and that's just the
begining of the story.
The battles in AC:TFM are simlilar to Quest 64's battle, only
with more spells, weapons, items and monsters. Players will
control 4 players while on the battle field, each with their
own skills and weaknesess. Each character wil have the be able
to move a sertain amout of steps, and attack in one turn. There
are also trees or rocks that you can run in back of to shield
enimy attacks.
If you think that AC:TFM is just a sequal to Quest 64 and will
just as bad, then your wrong. THQ has changed its enitire
production team, and has a different developer. Originaly due
fir a summer release, THQ has delayed it to March 2001. AC:TFM
just might be what RPG fans are looking for.
