  Dreamcast Dead? Sadly Yes!

Rumors have been going around for along time now and finally 
Sega has comfirmed that they will no longer be in the 
hardware business. Prices are going to drop to $99.99 as of 
Febuary 4th. Sega will continue to soport the DC until December
31st but will no longer be holding inventory as of March 31st. 

Sega VP of Corporate and Marketing Communications Charles 
Bellfield said that "We're not giving up on Dreamcast. We'll 
continue to support the platform well into the next 18 months, 
and beyond that, as long as it is profitable." Sega has 
comfirmed 30 DC titles to be released in 2001. 

Sega is moving more into the software business, and has already 
comfirmed plansfor games on multiple systems like: Virtua 
Fighter 4, Space Channel 5, Crazy Taxi, 18 Wheel American Pro 
Trucker and Zombie Revenge for the Playstation 2, also Sonic the 
Hedgehog Advance, Chu Chu Rocket!, and Puyo Puyo for GameBoy 
Advanced. Sega might also make some classic games of Saturn to 
bring onto the original Playststion.

"Sega is a company that has always dared to innovate and push 
this industry forward," said Peter Moore, president and COO, 
Sega of America. "Sega will continue to do so with its new 
strategy, and the result for consumers will be what you would 
always expect from a 'rules-breaker' like Sega � a library of 
pioneering, jaw-dropping content now available any way you want 
to play."
