Pret a Manger

Time of Work

Hours

Your personal hours of work are laid out in your statement of employment.

A standard week is Monday- Saturday with Sunday and one other day off during the week.

Your work schedule will be posted on the staff notice board two weeks in advance. We may have to alter this schedule but if we do, we will consult you in advance.

Your manager will be happy to discuss any queries or requests relating to your work schedule.

Sunday Working

Working on a Sunday is the choice of the individual.

However, we have a number of key positions that require cover on Sundays. If you hold one of these you will be asked if you wish to work on a Sunday. If you agree, your normal working week may include a Sunday shift.

Time Keeping

Arriving late for work causes undue stress and extra work for your manager and your colleagues who have to cover for you.

"Think of Prêt a Manger as  a well-oiled machine. Everyone has an important part to play in making it work and we need to be able to rely on work times and schedules".

Refreshment breaks

If you work four or more continuous hours you're entitled to at least one refreshment break.

Hours worked Break entitlement
4 but less than 6 15 minutes paid
6 but less than 8 30 minutes break (of which 15 minutes is paid)

We may need to alter the scheduling of breaks to meet customer's needs.

Holiday

Everyone enjoys a break from work and the chance to get away from it all. This takes careful planning to ensure we maintain the high standards of service our customers are used to. Here we answer the questions you may have about how to arrange your holidays.
