Japan's greatest monster, Godzilla, departed his homeland and headed for Hollywood, CA to celebrate his 50th birthday!  A trio of events were held November 28 & 29, 2004, to mark the occasion.

The 73rd Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade took place along Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards on the chilly evening of Sunday, November 28.  The parade started around 5:00 pm, and lasted over two hours.  Here's a sampling of what else (besides Godzilla) the parade included, followed by some daytime pictures of the Godzilla float.  (Click on any of the Godzilla-related images to see a larger version.)

Jen & Godzilla Philip & Godzilla
The following day, after the Walk of Fame ceremony, Jen and I discovered the Godzilla float parked in a lot adjoining Grauman's Chinese Theater.  This allowed us to get some good daytime shots.  Check out Godzilla's glittery sparkle, and the sparks emanating from his spines.  Pretty cool!  (Click for larger images.)
