Once there was a happy Dwarf couple living in the wilds outside Kaladim, right off a frequently traveled road. They sold and traded their goods to passing travelers of all walks of life.

It was a happy time for the loving couple, living in a safe land, with a good home and thriving business. Their joy was doubled when she gave birth to a strapping young male dwarf.

A few months passed, then one day a shifty eyed halfling came to trade. He had a magical robe much sought after in the realm. Telling the merchant he had inherited it from his grandfather who recently passed away of old age he only sought a minimum fee since possessing it brought him heart ache from the memory of his kindly wizard grandfather. Being a thrifty merchant with an eye for a good deal, he eagerly bought the robe, good judgment being over ridden by the glitter of profit.

A few weeks later, a well dressed Dark Elf came to the home while the merchant was outside setting up the wagon for the annual trade run. The merchant was leery of dealings with a Dark Elf but had always said his business was open to anyone. With a foreboding in his heart he went to greet the Dark customer. The dark elf greeted him cordially enough and started making inquires into magical armor fit for a magic user. The merchant seeing an opportunity to make a profit off the richly dressed Dark Elf, presented him with the rare magical robe he had recently acquired.

Once it was in the Dark Elf's view his eyes shone with greed, and a mischievous smile lit his face as he said, "So this is where that double crossing thief hid our prize. No doubt you acquired this for next to nothing. I gather from his denials as I slowly stripped him of his soul, that hiding it here would leave me to believe he did not have it and save his life. Luckier for you if I had."  Laughing darkly the Dark Elf summoned a skeletal warrior and began casting on the horrified merchant.

Over hearing the conversation from inside, his wife fearing the worst, grabbed their child and slipped out the back window. She went only a short distance into the woods and hid the child in the hollow of an old tree nearby. Hearing the screams of her husband die off, she ran back, her heart beating madly in horror of loosing her love. Sneaking around the side of the house, believing the necro to have gone, she saw her husband lying in a pool of his own blood in the yard. Overcome with grief she ran to her husband, unaware of anything, including the Dark Elf leaning against the door to their home. Without a word, she was struck down from behind by the Skeletal warriors dagger and the Necro took the last of her soul, and life.

That same evening as Amberle Duath'dil was traveling to see her cleric companion Vixyn, as they were embarking on a desperate quest, she passed by the merchant's home. Seeing the grizzly remains of the merchant she forlornly checked the house for survivors or wounded, not having much hope of either. Noticing the child's bed but no child she employed her ranger skills to deduce the scenario yet had no sense of a child near. Following the Merchant wife's trail using her tracking skill, she found the infant in the hollowed tree, still alive and unharmed yet obviously hungry and dirty. Thinking that only mere luck led the merchant's wife to lay her child in a Krag Elder's nest, known by few to have magical properties which hid the Krag infants from predators, she scooped up the infant and took it quickly to Vixyn for healing.

Having no time to stop and leave the infant in Dwarven hands, they left him with the guild clerics, to raise. Having heard the tale of his survival they named him Kragnar, after the nest which saved his life. Under the care and guidance of the clerics he grew to be a good healer, caring for the family of elves that saved and raised him. When he became of age, he choose his Surname in Elvish and pronounced himself forever Quessir'Sha, Elf friend. Gratefully taking the gifts of healing, and the fine equipment they had given him, he set out to help anyone he found in need.
