Tales By Kinfolk

Hail and well met to thee, elders and youngers, brothers and sisters. I would tell thee the tale of a wanderer returned to the fold. My time on this world had been lead by three; Tunare, Mother of Us All, Oceana, my mate and soul, and the bow, one's own strong arm. And now I have found the fourth, family; the Fyrelake Elves. I am complete.

Of my own parents, one knows little. I was told by the elders how one of great age and stature, one of the Edan, a holy man of Tunare, Mother of Us All, brought one to the guards at the root of Kelethin then departed. He spoke not of where I was found or the circumstances thereof. And as the Edan are likely to do at inopportune times, died of old age before one could find him and ask more of my origins.

In my youth I was hot of temper and undisciplined of manner, partaking in jokes and the teasing of others. The lack of family made me quick to anger and being an Edan foundling helped little among one's peers. I took to speaking with the visitors to Kelethin, hoping to learn more of one's origins; the Edan, with their short lives and many numbers, the Naugrim, hearty of soul and strong of spirit (though not appreciative of jokes regarding their height, as I found at an early age), the Peredhil, with their jolly disposition and quick minds, and the Cala'Quessir, with their haughty manner and serious demeanor. Their languages gave me the first glimpse of the world outside Kelethin and the Faydark. To this day, languages still fascinate me. However, that knowledge caused a coldness that hampered my soul. I was without tie, without root in an immensely larger world than I had ever imagined.

As I grew my interests led one to Faydark's Champions. My roaming of the forests took on more purpose; scouting the Orcs, taking messages to our relatives in Felwithe, and other such errands as the elders would decree. During this time it is typical for a young ranger to test the different weapons of our trade and find that which most closely matches their spirit. I became captivated with the longbow. It's seeming simplicity masks a depth of subtlety that has always intrigued me. It's art and beauty led me to fletching. It was at that time, when I made my first bow, that I vowed to never use a bow that was not made of my own hands. I learned, and was useful, but little beyond. Other than a predilection for the occasional practical joke, I was quiet and unremarkable. Tunare, Mother of Us All, protected me, but I still felt the emptiness of being alone.

All changed when I first saw the owner of my heart and soul, mi lady Oceana. Her eyes entranced me, her nature soothed me, her stature enraptured me. Her presence in my life gave me peace for the first time. Though married not among the folk, we are married forever in the eyes of Tunare, Mother of Us All. When one can provide for her as she deserves, only then will we marry among the folk.

My life had become comfortable. The protection of Tunare, Mother of Us All, the love of mi lady, and the following of the art of the bow. Only one thing was missing; family.

Mi lady and one were awoken by a dream of a lake, of family, with a great longing for HOME. Where it was we knew not, but we knew that we must seek it out. That led us to searching out anything regarding this mystical lake… and in turn, our introduction to an elven druid named Nuuko Skywalker.

So ends this tale, but like most tales, the end is but another beginning. We travel a long road… but the longest road is but a trifle when accompanied by one's love and family.

Hail and well met to thee, elders and youngers, brothers and sisters. You have my arm, my honor, and my line. I have returned.
