Quotes Galore

Theme from "Millenium"

In my quests to keep myself buisy I've come across lots of interesting, funny, or weird things people have said. So I thought I'd make a page especially for them. Some of them are links - if you click on them, you can hear someone, usually the person who spoke them, say the quote.

"'Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?'"
'I do bite my thumb, sir.'
'Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?'
'Is the law of our side, if I say ay?'
'No.'
'No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I
bite my thumb, sir.'"
- Act 1 Scene 1, "Romeo and Juliet" (specially picked from the bunch for Emily)

"Why, then, O brawling love! O loving hate!
O any thing, of nothing first create!
O heavy lightness! serious vanity!
Mis-shapen chaos of well-seeming forms!
Feather of lead, bright smoke, cold fire,
sick health!
Still-waking sleep, that is not what it is!
This love feel I, that feel no love in this.
Dost thou not laugh?"
- Romeo, Act 1 Scene 1, "Romeo and Juliet"

"I lurk."
- Angel, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", Episode: "What's My Line?"

"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,-I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death."
- "Sonnets from the Portuguese" by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

"Huh."
- Oz, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Episode: "Phases" (This is amusing because at the time he said this he'd just woken up naked in the woods, which was not where or how he went to sleep...and that was all he had to say about it!)

'Words, words, words.'"

"I'm the key figure in a government conspiracy, a plot to conceal the existince of extraterestials. It's a governtment conspiracy actually, that reaches down to the lives of every man woman and child on this planet. So of course no one believes me, I'm an annoyance to my superiors, a joke to my peers.
