Court TV's Notorious Murders/Timeless Classics website has a great chapter called "An American Tragedy." Good pictures and narrative in the Court TV style.
The Historical Society of the Courts of New York is preparing the full transcript of the trial but has in depth legal material regarding the appeal. Great site for legal eagles!
NY GenWeb's Herkimer/Montgomery Counties page has a summation of both the Gillette and the Roxalana Druse cases. Locally written and maintained.
Ward's Pond Bed and Breakfast's website has two stories: "The Murder of the Century-Chester Gillette turned Herkimer County into a Media Center And Inspired a Famous Novel" and "How to Write A Tragic Novel- Theodore Dreiser Simply Sent for Gillette Trial Record,Toured the Area and Read the Newspapers."
Craig Brandon's Murder in the Adirondacks New Updates page features news about the opera presented this December at the Met as well as links to many other resources. A "must visit" site for Chester and Grace fans.

Historic Preservation Groups

Wayne County's first page looks like this. They use it to promote their services, exhibitons and special events.
The Town of Webb Historical Association's opening page features an image of the Goodsell House against an old-fashioned wallpaper background. The visitor clicks on a text link to enter the site.
Historic Salem Courthouse Preservation Association is pretty simple with a list of links, hours of operation and meeting times, a statement of purpose and a featured article called "At Jail Kitchen, Now They're Cooking".
Friends of the Three Bears is very interactive! Click on the little arrows to make pages fold and unfold. Terrific information about the group and its projects as well as comprehensive links to related sites.
Bud Miner forwarded this link to the Haddon Heights Historical Society. They're a lot further along than we are at this point but their site has some great ideas.
