You can listen to Sherry's performance by visiting KPIG

NEWS FROM LONDON

Wow! The 7 Shells along with all performers from 20 Odd Hollers have a new favorite DJ - Fred Smith of CHRW 94.7 FM, London! (Ontario that is) Fred featured '20 Odd Hollers' Wed night Aug 9 on his 'Hardcore Country' show, which features Alternative Country. He spun 18 tracks (before he ran out of time), and shared plenty of the artist info from this here website! Thank you Fred!!! Fred's program can be heard Wednesdays at 10pm eastern time.

Be sure to tune in to CHRW
One of our very favorite radio stations!!

A BIG HOLLER FOR FRED.....Smith, that is.

Did we mention how much we love Fred Smith of CHRW 94.7? Well, here's why. Below is an article on 20 Odd Hollers that was written by Fred and published in the Aug 24, 2000 issue of 'Scene Magazine' (a weekly entertaiment paper from London, ON)

Fred Eaglesmith has earned favorable comparisons to Steve Earle and Robert Earl Keen with his dark tales narrated by characters marked by hard times and hard drinking, vignettes littered with rowdy hunting dogs, oil burning cars, smoking guns and spooked horses. "20 Odd Hollers" is a 20-track tribute compiled by dedicated "Fredheads" from around the world. Highlights include Australian Audrey Auld's cover of "Crazier", Californian Sherry Austin's version of "Drive-In Movie", along with Cleveland's *only* high lonesome 23rd Century Cowpunk Band, The Stewdogs' take on "Mighty Big Car". Something for almost everyone and a good introduction to Fred's music. Ten of the tracks appeared on Fred's last three albums (Drive-In Movie; Lipstick, Lies & Gasoline; and 50 Odd Dollars), the balance come from his earlier independent releases from his "angry farmer period" (some of which he's in the process of releasing on CD). Proceeds from the sale of this CD are being donated to the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario and they're available for $15.00 CAN and $10.00 US (shipping included) from Practix Information Services Ltd., 200 North Service Road West, Unit 1, Suite 372, Oakville, ON, L6M 2Y1 or check out www.geocities.com/fredheads. You can hear Fred Eaglesmith and Friends at his annual picnic in Port Dover from Friday, August 25 to Sunday, August 27. Phone (819) 459-1804 or visit: www.broadcast.com/music/concerts/fredeaglesmith.

Fred Smith is the host of Hard Core Country, heard every Wednesday from 10 PM to midnight on CHRW 94.7 FM. On the net CHRW.FM.NET (Featuring the best of Alt. Country & Traditional Country).

CLEVELAND ROCKS....with Pokey of the Stew Dogs!!

20 Odd Hollers own Pokey, 50% of Ceveland's ONLY Authentic 23rd Century High Lonesome Cowpunk Band appeared live in the studios of Cleveland's finest college radio station WCSB, 89.3 FM Thursday August 3rd to promote the disc on Joe's show 'Green Light Go.' "We spun my tune, 'Mighty Big Car', Audry Auld's 'Crazier' and The Back Forty Band's 'Alcohol & Pills'" recounts Pokey. Also receiving airplay was Fred's version of 'Crazier' and 'Georgia Overdrive'.

"It was an Eaglesmith kinda morning here at Cleveland State!" Joe has put "20 Odd Hollers" into the station's country push box. Thanks Joe! Thanks WCSB! We hope you're still on the air after having Pokey in there. You didn't let him touch the controls did you?!?!
