I think 20 Odd Hollers was such a great idea! It kept John occupied over the past 9 months and out of my hair! Ha Ha. Seriously, it is a very special thing everyone has been involved in. I'm excited to have been just a small part of the project with my pi ture being used on the label of the disc, thanks to the 7 Shells for choosing it. I'm a hard rocker at heart but Fred stole it. Thanks Fred for showing me there is life beyond Van Halen & AC/DC! See you at the picnic!

How did you become a FredHead: heard him once at Calgary Folk Fest and I was hooked
Where are you from: canmore, alberta
Your favorite song(s) from 20 Odd Hollers: I'll wait till I receive that to pass judgement

Comments:
We have a small but loyal Fredhead group in Canmore. We had him here in 99 for our Folk Festival and he was a real hit with the crowd. I am a very loyal Dylan fan but find I play Fred a whole lot more. The songs are just great telling a story and are very musical. Willy on mandolin adds a certain sparkle to the music. I have not heard the revised band without Ralph but expect another evolution of Fred's music. I have Fred's music dating back to 1983 and it is interesting in it's changes. They were good the but have got better as he hones his craft. Fred is truly one of the worlds great song writers and performers.

We bought an extra CD to donate to our favourite radio station. We are hoping to hear "Hollers" on the airwaves on a request program on Sunday, August 20(11am to noon MDT, http://www.ckua.com, click on Listen). We expect that exposure to create a lot of interest throughout the province. Thanks to all the talented Fredfans who made this great CD, performers and the Seven Shells.

How did you become a FredHead: I saw an advertisement in our local paper for a Fred show in my little home town in BC and felt an indescribable urge to attend. I had to go and see this man whom I had never heard of before. I was blown away and have been addicted ever since. It's weird really, I can't help myself, FRED RULES. He's a musical genius. A gift from God to all of us. I am and forever will be a dedicated Fredhead. I couldn't not be, even if I wanted to. He has captured me, heart, mind and soul.
Your Favorite Fred Song(s): Almost all of them. They are all so beautiful and full of emotion.
Your favorite song(s) from 20 Odd Hollers: I live in Canada, my copy hasn't arrived yet. I'm sure that it would be hard to pick one or two favorites.

Many thanks again to all the "shells". Your hard work is well represented in an awesome finished product. It's a privelege being included with such a talented bunch of performers. It really is hard to pick just one favorite with all the great covers on th CD. I'll just have to listen a few hundred more times and see!

I'v been reading the Digest for a couple of years now, and this album sounds like the best tribute that a musican can ask for. I hope that someday Fred can publicly acknowledge the praise that people have for his talent and determination.

How did you become a FredHead: It was first christened with Drive In Movie. Then it was Full Immersion with LL&G. 50 Odd.. dunked me under agin.
Your Favorite Fred Song(s): 'Carter' or maybe 'Bullets' right now
Your favorite song(s) from 20 Odd Hollers: Too many gooduns to mention just one or two. I wish we could've included em all, even the duplicates. Bob Smith and Ray Harris turned in some mighty fine versions of Carmelita and Rough Edges that we didn' have room for this go around. They'll be a great foundation for Volume 2.

Comments:
It has been a great pleasure working with these Shells. As far as that goes, every Fredhead I've met, been associated with, or been in contact with directly has been a person of extraordinary depth and substance. You're my kind of people. Bless you for j st being.

Thanks Fred for writing 'from the heart, fresh, honest music.' Last but certainly not least, I'm proud to know the sale of 20 Odd Hollers will go to benefit the Ontario Schizophrenia Society.
