| Social Prison
It is the jail of which we live the society of which we dream. It is a cage of which we inhabit the life of which we strive for. Perfection is a dream to those who cannot achieve excellence. Failure is a state of mind the strong frighten the weak with. It is only for life that death exists, it is only for death that life continues. It is only for hate that love exists, it is only for love that hate is born. The pains in life bring forth much anguish, And as the tormented souls live on the pains grow worse. Hate not the world for your failures, rather hate the world for its failures. Look into the stars and dream of what lies above, and as you dream strive to bring them closer to you. As the moon shines above in the clearest of nights learn to appreciate the company, For it has seen all that has ever been and will see all to come. Hope to achieve something so great that the constellations would form your face, that the world would remember your name. As the skies of immortal darkness clear from your mind allow the soothing sun to bring happiness upon your world. ~Frank Vallenziano |

| If a government official was hiding something from you wouldn't you want to know what and why? I can't seem to figure out what it is about news reporters and finding the dirty little things about people. They seem to have a knack for finding information that no one wants us to know about. Well now thanks to yet another law that imposes our freedoms and the right to privacy we may never again get the chance to know about the crimes of the people we are supposed to trust. |

| Not only does this new law limit the information we will see, not that information restriction is anything new, it also puts fear into those who dedicate their lives to exposing things for what they really are. How is a reporter supposed to cope with the fact that if they dig up some dirty secret about a politician, or find out about plans that Big Brother doesn't want his citizens to see, that they could be imprisoned along with the sources of the information. Can you grasp this? Information=Knowledge=Power. If we obtain information, if we discover the truth, if we seek to KNOW about the people who have been put in charge we could be put in JAIL. This tells me that the government fears us. The only reason the government would have to fear those of us who actually care about information and the truth is that they are trying to keep secrets from us in order to allow themselves to obtain more power. What happened to the old United States that thrived on information, the country whose citizens had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge? If you ask me I believe that we are becoming more and more like an authoritarian state. This opinion of mine comes from more than just the silencing of the press in order to hide the truth; which in turn limits information exchange, thus limiting knowledge, thus taking power away from the people. How about the process of issuing national I.D. Cards? Can you say "Travel limitations?" or how about "Complete and utter invasion of privacy?". |
