I guess whether or not we have a home to live in doesn't matter to the government so long as they get more money in their pockets.
Listening to the radio a topic about real estate comes across, and what do you know? The government now has the right to take your house, tear it down, and build a McDonald's in its place- the reason, McDonald's will bring more money into the governments pocket then you paying your taxes. (supposedly this will benefit everyone, but someone should tell that to the poor family that's about to lose their home.)

Social Prison

It is the jail of which we live the society of which we dream.
It is a cage of which we inhabit the life of which we strive for.
Perfection is a dream to those who cannot achieve excellence.

It is only for life that death exists, it is only for death that life continues.
It is only for hate that love exists, it is only for love that hate is born.

The Pains in life bring forth much anguish,
And as the tormented souls live on, the pains grow worse.

Hate not the world for your failures, rather hate the world for its failures.
Look into the stars and dream of what lies above, and as you dream strive to bring them closer to you.
As the moon shines above in the clearest of nights learn to appreciate the company,
For it has seen all that has ever been and will see all to come.
Hope to achieve something so great that the constellations would form your face, that the world would remember your name.

As the skies of immortal darkness clear from your mind allow the soothing of the sun to bring happiness upon your world.

What this article basically goes over is the new bill passed by the government. So far it looks like it will only effect major cities for now. But that still sucks, because those who live in major cities need the availability of cheap housing more than those who live in suburbs.
A bill that passed with 4 out of 5 votes allowing the government to come and take your land in order to build something that would bring in more taxes. How is that fair to the people that work so hard to get this house they live in?
It was somewhat understandable, even if I myself never 100 percent agreed, when it used to be the government could take your house in order to build a train station, or expand the highways. But the owners of the property knew there was a chance that would happen if they bought land that rested on the side of a major road, or if it was somewhere close to a river. Even if they had a mass amount of land they at least knew the chance of it being used for public transportation was clear.
Now there is no prior knowledge of the chance that this could happen. If you live in a house and you pay your taxes you deserve to keep your house right? Apparently not. The government is more concerned with making money then they are with the happiness of the people. I thought the government was supposed to work for us, not against us. Again I was naieve.
Please tell me how it's right that if a hotel will bring the government a profit, or a restraunt, or anything for that matter then you don't deserve to live in that space? It's ridiculous that they now have given themselves the right to kick you out and build something on YOUR property simply because they want more money.
Land of the free? No. We have now officially become a hardcore capitalist society where the government that is supposed to protect us from evil is more concerned with the wealth in their pockets rather then the well being of the hard working Americans that made this country what it is.
