She is my love.
by Robert Clark Nielsen © 2000
My sun retires, you start
your day.
He greets you and he rises.
Your hopes and dreams confronting
all of life's mundane surprises.
In stride, you mount the onerous, undaunted slow and faded steed.
And, hope the morrow shall endure, another day, a dawn.
The light is shedding warmth, until
it wanes and then, it's chilling.
And, then my day has glistened as
it waits for love, it's willing.
Connect achieved, they navigate, and then, they find a quiet
place
to read the hearts reliant song, devotion they depend upon.
The time shall flow as we live on
and go about our learning.
Not still, the heart is beating for
the coming day, its yearning.
Alas, they meet and hear the gentle melody of trial and fear
Of all that which was hoped for and has calmed and met fruition.
The mystic meadow cools their hearts in knowledge that they'll
never part.
For, now they know he'll never leave the cherished heart,
For which he breathes.
The stillness grows and they full rest
They sleep beside each other.
