F.R.A.M.E (International) has been formed in response to the perceived and exponential growth in the number of medically substantiated cases of child abuse in Australia and elsewhere in the world. Here is Australia, it would appear that Msbp seems to predominantly afflict mothers on the eastern seaboard in Australia, extending as far south as South Australia. The reason for this apparent phenomena remains unknown to F.R.A.M.E

As hospitals and the Department of Community Services (DoCS) here in New South Wales (NSW)., Australia do not code Msbp, there is no easy way of knowing just how many Msbp cases there have been. Therefore it has become incumbent on F.R.A.M.E to collect this data in order to have a rough estimate of how many cases there are in NSW and to find out just who is accusing mothers of this form of child abuse.

The F.R.A.M.E (NSW) databases are designed to capture the number of  Msbp and Shaken Baby syndrome cases that have occurred, and continue to occur in NSW. Additional databases that have as their focus such phenomena as 'atypical anorexia nervosa' may be formulated and maintained if the need arises

F.R.A.M.E (International)'s intention is to facilitate the formulation of regional based databases that will have a standardised format so they can be merged to form a national, and then an international database of all accusations and notifications of medically substantiated forms of child abuse.

The databases will capture such information  as:

  • the names of the medical practitioner (s) involved in the accusation/confirmation of abuse,

  • the name of the notifier (if known),

  • the sex of the child,

  • a child identification code,

  • the child’s illnesses pre and post confirmation of abuse,

  • medical treatment given to the child,

  • the DoCS official involved in the investigation,

  • the centre/hospital involved in the child’s case,

  • date of vaccination, and

  • assumed date of cerebral injury etc....

The database will be used to keep track of, and assist to identify, individual medical practitioners, DoCS' medical reviewers, hospital based specialty units and hospitals that have a higher than average rate of accusations of Msbp and Shaken Baby cases and any DoCS officials commonly linked to these cases. Information obtained from this database will then be forwarded to the relevant hospital authorities, the media, federal and state police, anti-corruption and complaint watch dogs, government departments, child protection agency, the parents involved and posted on this website.

F.R.A.M.E is currently seeking your involvement in the design of these databases and you are invited to comment on the suggested fields for these databases. The hyperlinks listed below will take you to the tables of suggested fields.

F.R.A.M.E would like to thank you in advance for any contribution that you make to this project.
