The oldest field game in Europe, the fastest field game in the world - just two of the things we are able to boast
about this ancient celtic game.A traditional Irish field sport in which a ball, called a sliotar, is caught on a hurley, or stick, and carried, or hurled into the opponent's goal. Irish mythology has tales of the warrior Cu Chulainn and other legendary heroes who were expert hurlers. The rules of play were standardized in 1884 when the Gaelic Athletic Association was founded. Today the game is almost entirely restricted to Ireland, where the All-Ireland championship competition has been held since 1887.

So, the pic at the bottom is the infamous hurling team!! Well, that is to say, that part of the team that bothered showing up for training on the 13/03/2005. The Red Branch Knights (as we call ourselves) is not more than a year old. Started out with a few of us going down to the park and puck around for a while, but steadily grew to have a lot of people showing up every time. So we decided to have actual training sessions with a real life trainer and the works...we've even got our own Logo and jersey's (logo on top of page).
We've played a few games so far, and even won a couple of them, HURRA for us!!
Now the talk is about going to Ireland and play a match there, but we'll see how that turns out.
