Left Behind

Some people may say that this series of books is the only reason why this prayer group is "around". That is not necessarily true, but it is an important part of the reason this prayer group is "around."

The Left Behind books are a series of books authored by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. The books deal with the lives of those "Left Behind" after the Rapture of the church, those on earth who will be around when our world goes through the Tribulation. The books are currently broken up as follows:

• Left Behind adult series (Currently consisting of 9 books. There are a total of 12 planned, plus a prequel novel and a novella concerning the final judgment)
• Left Behind the Kids (new installments to be released in January, 2002. The series currently has 18 titles, and is expected to contain a total of 48 books (4 books per each adult novel))
• Left Behind Dramatic audio (In both the adult and kids' series)
• Left Behind graphic novels (yet to be published)

Below are descriptions of each book in the adult series. I highly reccommend reading both the adult series and the kids' series, as the kids' books allow you to fill in some of the gaps time wise and character wise in the adult series. The Dramatic Audio edition also accomplishes this task

The fifth book in the series is the continuing story of the characters that were left behind. The world holds its breath as the Tribulation Force ventures to Jerusalem for the great Meeting of the Witnesses that will result in the showdown between the Force and Nicolae Carpathia. The eighth book in the series: His Excellency Global Community Potentate Nicolae Carpathia is back.
