| *7* Fort Weyr /strongly/ prefers not to Search its own IC staff such as Headwoman and Steward, but will allow it ONLY if the character has been at the Weyr for at least 6 Real Life months and has been present for at least one PC Hatching. Rare exceptions can be made with the approval of the Weyr's OOC Staff (and a very good reason from the character). Be sure to contact *FWStaff , Fort Weyr's Staff mailer on VirtuaPern, before requesting a Search application. This rule DOES NOT apply to any Asst. Headwomen or Asst. Stewards. *8* If your character is part of a Craft as an Apprentice, Journeyman or other resident, you must have permission from your Craft's OOC Staff before you can apply for Search. This applies even if your character is posted at Fort Weyr. If your character is posted at Xanadu Weyr, please be sure to contact Xanadu's staff with your intention to apply for Fort's Search. *9* If you already have one or more dragonrider alts on the game and you wish to apply for another, you must request the Multiple Dragonrider Alt (MDRA) Search Application. While there is no limit to the number of dragonrider alts a player may have, there is a time limit between Impressions. Please read help MDRA for VirtuaPern's Policy which includes rules and requirements. *10* For reasons of keeping within the canon outline derived from the novels, Fort Weyr will only accept physically healthy characters for Search. If your character has a deformity, mental problems, is blind, deaf, etc., then unfortunately we cannot allow you to be Searched. This is no slight on the world's RL disabled community, but rather us keeping within the guidelines set forth by Ms. McCaffrey herself. *11* Fort Weyr normally searches 13-14 Candidates for 8 PC eggs, although there is no set limit on the number of Candidates that can be Searched. This does mean that if you are Searched, you are NOT GUARANTEED to Impress. As much as we might like to Impress all our Candidates, we simply can't. Out of those 8 PCs we may only Impress 2-3 MDRAs. However, the Search Committee reserves the right to Impress LESS than 8 PCs. *12* Fort Weyr will only take Stand Only Candidates if there are NOT enough searchable Candidates from those that are applying to actually Impress.
