FIRST Lego League
The portion of FIRST that is open to the youngest of competitors with
a small budget needed, the FIRST Lego League is an easy way to build
engineering and programming skills needed to be expand a FIRST team.
Not only does this provide an inlet for the new members and prepares
them for the challenges ahead, but also prepares the current FIRST robotics
students for the mentor process they will embark on after their senior
year
FIRST Vex Challenge
The FIRST Vex Challenge (FVC) is another plausible method to recruit
future members and prepare them for the challenging six-week build window.
The FVC provides an opportunity for the current FIRST participants to
give back to the program by mentoring and teaching the next generation
of FIRST competitors the guidelines and principles needed to be successful.
